This is the 12th year that Victoria Vets in Glossop and Chapel-en-le-Frith has organised their Christmas pet food appeal and they are asking local people to ‘Be a Pal to a Pet’ and help them by donating cat, dog, rabbit and guinea pig food and bedding.
Many pets are abandoned or left unwanted in various rescue centres across the area, especially at this time of year, so Victoria Vets wants to spread a little ‘foody’ cheer.
Everything that is donated will then be given to the Manchester Dog’s home, Dove Cat Sanctuary in Dove Holes and Tameside Rabbit and Guinea Pig rescue in time for Christmas.
Gill Barnes, head receptionist at Victoria Vets Veterinary practice in Glossop explained,” Every year we can’t believe how generous local people are, times are hard and we appreciate every donation large or small which is given to the ‘Be a Pal to a Pet’ appeal. Please just pop into the surgery and put your gifts under our Christmas tree which is ready and waiting in reception. The team will then distribute the food and bedding to the centres on your behalf in time for Christmas, which is the really fun bit.”
If you are able to give a donation of food or bedding for cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs please call in to Victoria Vets on Victoria Street anytime before Christmas Eve, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 7.00pm and Saturday 9.00am to 1.00pm.
